BKR Landscape Construction
Creating immersive outdoor landscapes that capture the Queensland lifestyle
A reliable team with expertise in all aspects of landscaping
With over 22 years of Landscape Construction experience, Dylan Barker and our dedicated staff provide a hands-on and high-quality approach to landscape design.
Our recently completed front yard project in Grange is benefiting from this wet and muggy weather, with the turf taking exceptionally since it's been installed.
With a considerable height difference from the naturestrip to the house level, we installed a new curved and rendered block retaining wall which allows for a great little lawn for the kids to play on.
The newest of sandblasted travertine to be released by @artisanexterior.au has been used to tile the path and create a nice, clean and formal entry to the front door.
Low maintenance formalised planting including Crepe Myrtle feature trees, cascading Rosemary and Dichondra to overhang the wall, a soon to be hedged row of gardenia across the front windows and a mix of beautiful flowering species to bring colour.
Sharp, clean and easy to maintain!
After a challenging end to 2025, we have made the decision to transition from Jade Built to BKR Landscape Construction.
This change marks the start of a new chapter: one with stronger direction, aligned leadership, and a clear long term vision.
Not everyone involved in the past shared the same values, work ethic or standards we hold ourselves to, and that became impossible to ignore. But we have learned, adapted, and emerged more focused than ever.
Our commitment to quality workmanship, honesty, and delivering exceptional outdoor spaces, hasn't changed: in fact, its stronger than ever. BKR is about precision, creativity and doing things properly from the ground up.
We are excited for whats ahead and greatful to our clients, suppliers, and the community for their continued support.
Here's to a future built on integrity, vision, and results that speak for themselves

Got a bit done!

2025 has been the biggest year yet.
2 Golds at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show,
we took out front yard week on The Block, built multiple award winning gardens, landscaped a heap of stunning homes throughout South East Queensland and we're not sure how that can be topped, but its looking like 2026 is going to be even bigger and better already!
This doesn't just magically happen.
There's countless hours spent behind the scenes and on site that turn plans and ideas into reality and we wouldn't be here without Dylan, Josh, Jen, Kyecin, Riley, David, Dakota, Dylan & Mitch and their partners. Thanks legends!
Then theres the subbies, designers and suppliers!
They say that good things happen when you surround yourself with good people and that's certainly were we find ourselves!
Too many to mention, but you all know who you are!
Hats off to everyone that makes everything possible!

2025 Work Break Up!
The latest Bird Property Group development is complete and set to hit the market!
This subdivision in Graceville saw the original old Queenslander raised and moved to one half of the large block and a new build to take place on the vacant half. As always, the new build went up quickly, but a lot more time and effort was required to renovate the old girl! The team at @bluebird_db did a fantastic job on every aspect and respected the features of the original home.
The front retained a lot of its original charm but with a substantial amount of modern additions and we couldnt be happier with the results! Hats off to all involved!
@queenslandfamilypoolsandspas and @mastertonglassbris doing what they do best and installed another exceptional swimming pool equipped with all of the latest mod cons. The pool, outdoor kitchen and outdoor entertaining area is a highly functional and inviting space for anyone who decides to call this place home.
Artisan Exterior supplied the large format stepping stones which we used in both a garden bed setting surrounded by ground covers and for the side access where they're surrounded by @nuway.landscape.supplies 4-7mm mist white gravel.
@plantconnectionsnursery supplied some outstanding healthy and mature plants yet again and @the_turf_shed provided another perfect batch of Buffalo which as always, is the icing on the cake!
It's taken two years and when we arrived it was nothing but dust and weeds, but its been another great project working alongside Bluebird Design Homes and BPG as this old Queenslander is brought back to life!
Our Murrarie project was handed over a little while back and its set for a massive burst of growth as the weather warms up.
Another @silver_leaf_landscape_design garden!
The installation of the custom made aluminium batten fence, @milkcanoutdoor Letterbox and gates to the rendered block wall and pillars, create a great first impression on arrival but also privacy from the inside.
Cantilevered coloured concrete steps lead to the front porch and are flanked with gardens either side that provide a variety of evergreen flowering shrubs and grasses that border the front lawns thanks to @plantconnectionsnursery . Trowel finished steppers allow comfortable access to the side services area and we installed a timber screen with stainless steel wires which will not only be a wall of Jasmine once established, but also help to block out the neighbouring house walls.
@shapescapersteel steel from @nuway.landscape.supplies was used to create the lawn and garden edges and @the_turf_shed supplied another cracking batch of Buffalo lawn to green things up!
The missing piece is now in place for this family home that was built 16 years ago!
There's water in at Nundah!
Its taken a few months to coordinate and complete, but we got there!
We started with the initial clearing of the backyard decking, stairs and plants to allow @queenslandfamilypoolsandspas enough access to get their excavation crew in and it was formed, steeled, plumbed and poured in no time!
This allowed us to get in and do our thing while they waited for the pool to cure and the transformation began!
We increased privacy by blocking up the boundary walls and rendering them, as well as building the new deck and stairs to the pool surrounds.
The existing decking around the house was literally falling apart due to rot, so that was removed and rebuilt using @ekodeck_ for ease of ongoing maintenance.
The bottom pool surrounds needed some attention as well, so we installed @stevejoneslandscapes organic bluestone steppers surrounded by natural river pebble, which again provides a low maintenance space.
With majority of the yard being taken up with pool, we installed two low maintenance tropical inspired gardens with Hymenocallis Lily, Dichondra ground cover and Cigar Plants as the main feature species. We also installed mounted planters to add some colour to the wall, which will drape dichondra as it matures.
Heath from @mastertonglassbris installed another perfect frameless glass pool fence and ensured the pool area received the final tick of approval which allowed the pool pebble to be installed and after a few paint touch up, we've wrapped up another great pool and backyard.
A challenging build from the start, but we've certainly managed to fully maximise a quite awkward space.
Not only do we have the 2025 Queensland Inclusion Open Captain working alongside us, we now have a member of the 2025 All Australian Team!
A sensational achievement Mitchell Hastilow.
After months of hard work and commitment, not only were you instrumental in helping Queensland get to Division 1, you got the individual recognition you deserved.
Congratulations mate!
We're all really proud of you!
A few hours spent at Wooloowin today to top dress and fertilise the lawns in preparation for the big wet expected tomorrow as well as the arrival of afternoon storm season!
That spring and summer growth flurry is upon us!
How about those grass trees!
Throwing off flowers and filling up nicely!
